Documentary newborn and maternity sessions
How this works
No studio, no props, no baby folded into shapes. I come to you — the nursery, your bed, the window you love — and we move at your baby's pace. Feedings, changes, breaks. Siblings and grandparents welcome. Usually about two hours, entirely baby-led.
Maternity photographs best between 28 and 34 weeks, in your home or at a golden-hour location around DFW. The two book beautifully together — your maternity session now, your newborn window reserved at the same time.
I just lived these first days myself; my wife and I welcomed our daughter Isabella in May 2026. I know how fast and how foggy the season goes. That's exactly why I shoot it unhurried.
Investment
I take a limited number of newborn sessions each month — reaching out during pregnancy is the surest way to get your window.
Keeping things relaxed so it can be an enjoyable experience — we've always LOVED the photos.Andrea · Repeat Client
Good To Know
Reach out during pregnancy if you can — I take a limited number of newborn sessions each month. We'll loosely plan around your due date and lock the exact day once your baby is here. Sessions usually happen in the first few weeks, but in-home lifestyle work is flexible and older babies photograph beautifully too.
An in-home newborn session is $800. A maternity session begins at $750. Booking both together as The First Chapter is $1,350, which saves $200 — a $200 reservation fee holds your maternity date and reserves your newborn window at the same time.
Between 28 and 34 weeks is the sweet spot — you're showing beautifully and still comfortable enough to enjoy the session. We can shoot in your home or at a golden-hour location around Dallas–Fort Worth.
No. We'll use one or two rooms with good light — usually the nursery and your bedroom — and I'll work around whatever else is happening. Real life in the frame is the point, not a staged house.
Absolutely, and I'd encourage it. Some of the best frames from these sessions are a big sibling meeting the baby for the first time.
