The newborn days go fast, and they don’t look like a studio. As an in-home newborn photographer in Dallas–Fort Worth, I photograph your baby’s first days where they actually happen — your living room, the nursery, the window light you love. Here’s when to book and what to expect.
When Should You Book?
Reach out during pregnancy — the second trimester is ideal. Newborn sessions happen in the first few weeks (often the first two), so I hold a date around your due date and stay flexible when baby decides to arrive. Booking early means you actually get on the calendar during a busy season.
What an In-Home Session Looks Like
It’s calm and baby-led. We move at your baby’s pace — feedings, snuggles, big-sibling introductions, and the tiny details (those fingers and toes) you’ll forget too soon. No elaborate props you’ll cringe at later; just your real first days at home, documented gently. Plan for about 1.5–2 unhurried hours.

Why In-Home Instead of a Studio?
Your home is where the memory actually lives — the nursery you set up, the couch where you’ll spend a thousand late nights, your own soft light. It’s more comfortable for you and baby, and it makes for warmer, more honest photographs than a sterile studio.
What to Wear
Soft, solid neutrals — for baby and for you. Nothing busy. I send a full what-to-wear guide once you book, and the whole family (yes, siblings and grandparents) is welcome.
